The Master of Speedmasters

               
Ron Evans,  Apollo 17 Astronaut whose OMEGA watch was worn on the moon. He had sold his watch to a collector. Now it belongs in a museum.As expected for a timepiece worn on the moon, it commanded the highest price ever paid for a Speedmaster at an OMEGA themed auction at Christie's in New York.

 

Sadly, Ron , an naval aviator and engineer, 

died of a heart attack in his sleep 

at the early age of 56 in 1990.
